Hidden Potential Within You: Simple Lessons from The Power of Your Subconscious Mind (Part 2/10)

Welcome to Part 2 of my Simple Lessons from The Power of Your Subconscious Mind series. Today, we will explore the Hidden Potential Within You and why many people spend their lives searching outside themselves for something that already exists within them.

The Treasure You Are Looking For Is Already Inside You

Disclaimer: This article shares my personal understanding and key takeaways from the book “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. The ideas are explained in my own words and through my experiences as an Introvert & Women’s Coach.

Have you ever felt that something is missing in your life?

Maybe confidence.

Maybe happiness.

Maybe success.

Maybe peace of mind.

Most of us spend years looking for answers outside ourselves.

We think:

  • A better job will make me confident.
  • More money will make me happy.
  • Other people’s approval will make me feel worthy.

But one of the most powerful lessons from The Power of Your Subconscious Mind is this:

The Treasure Is Already Inside You

The book compares every person to a hidden gold mine.

A gold mine already contains wealth.

The only difference is that it must be discovered.

In the same way, every person already has:

  • Intelligence
  • Creativity
  • Strength
  • Confidence
  • Wisdom

The problem is not that these qualities are missing.

The problem is that many of us don’t believe they are there.

Why We Don’t See Our Own Potential

Fear, Self-doubt, Past failures, Negative experiences.

These things create a false story in our minds.

We start believing:

❌ I am not capable.

❌ I am not talented.

❌ I am not confident enough.

❌ I am not good enough.

The more we repeat these thoughts, the more real they feel.

A Lesson for Introverts

As an introvert, I understand this very well.

Many introverts believe:

  • I am too quiet.
  • I cannot lead.
  • I cannot speak confidently.
  • Extroverts are naturally better.

But being quiet is not a weakness.

It is simply a different way of being.

Many successful leaders, writers, creators, and thinkers are introverts.

The problem is not being introverted.

The problem is believing that being introverted makes you less capable.

A Lesson for Women

Many women spend years supporting everyone else.

They encourage their families.

They motivate their children.

They help their friends.

But they rarely remind themselves of their own strength.

Sometimes women do not need more skills.

They need more belief in themselves.

A Simple Exercise

Take a notebook today.

Write down three strengths you already have.

For example:

  • I am hardworking.
  • I am kind.
  • I am willing to learn.

Now ask yourself:

“What if these strengths are just the beginning of what is already inside me?”

Final Thought

You do not need to become someone else.

You do not need to wait for permission.

You do not need to prove your worth to everyone.

The treasure you are searching for may already be within you.

Your job is not to create it.

Your job is to discover it.

Remember:

You are far more capable than you have been led to believe.
